you wont believe this but some retard at my school (an art school, mind you) said that the scene outside the window takes away from the picture...
i told him if anything, the fact that its drawn like a 5 year olds crayon scribbling only enhances it.

My only advice is to take crit for what it is.. Was there purpose to the window? Does it add to the story of the piece? If not then yes it may be hurting your design but if you answered yes to both then it sure does belong..
